Merry Christmas everyone! So, need a delicious, warm-baked bread for the holidays, but want to jazz up the same old traditional options at the dessert table? Then make this s'mores-infused banana bread straight from the mind of Sweet & SavoRi! All the summer-reminiscent-good-times feel of s'mores, only in a wintry warm bread! The best of both worlds! This is also super-easy to make, so maybe it's not too late to serve it up at one of your Christmas get-togethers.
Ingredients you will need:
- 2-3 medium bananas
- 1 large egg
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 7 tablespoons butter, melted
- 2 tablespoons milk
- 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon cloves
- 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
- 3/4 cup mini marshmallows
- 1/2 cup mini chocolate chips
- 1 oz. graham crackers, crushed
Instructions for S'morver the Moon Banana Bread:
- Preheat oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Mash the bananas in a large bowl. Stir in the sugar, melted butter, egg, milk, and vanilla.
- Combine the dry ingredients and stir into the banana mixture until just blended.
- Add the mini marshmallows, mini chocolate chips, and crushed graham crackers to the mix and stir once again.
- Pour the banana batter into the loaf pan and bake in oven for about an hour, until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Allow to cool and firm up before eating.
Mash up the bananas and sugar together...
...Then add all the other ingredients. Easy!
Mmmmmm... The s'mores mix-ins make me tempted to eat the banana bread BEFORE it's even cooked. Haha! ...But it's probably a good idea to wait. Raw banana bread isn't as good as raw cookie dough.
I should knowwwww...
Then just pour the banana bread mix into a greased loaf pan and cook for about an hour or so. The insides will be a bit mushy but they will firm up over time.
And there you have it! A tasty and unique take on banana bread. THAT'LL sure bring some innovation to the dinner table. Let me know what you all think of it if you decide to bake it, and Merry Christmas once again! Maybe this sounds a bit cliche', but I hope your day is full of cheer and goodwill.
Till' then, this has been RiRi ri-porting!
