REVIEW: Nature's Path Organic Sweet & Salty Mmmaple Pecan Chewy Granola Bars

So, dear readers: QUESTION TIME: How do you feel about ORGANIC granola bars? Me...? Well, the only organic kind I've ever tried- or at least even close to being called "organic" -is Kashi. And simply put, their granola bars didn't exactly give my taste-buds high hopes for the rest of the organic bar line.
"So then, Ri," you then might proceed to say, "Why did you decide to do a post on an organic granola bar product today? You didn't make it sound like you were very interested in trying them."
Very true, dear readers! But sometimes, products just jump out at you so much that you just can't NOT buy them, no matter how uninterested in them some might expect you to be. ESPECIALLY if said product is in the dusty corner of the supermarket labeled "Reduced Produce."
Hahaha... What can I say? These Mmmaple Pecan Chewy Bars from Nature's Path Organic were going for less than HALF their original price! HALF, Jim!!! And I think the only problem with them was that the box was pretty dented. Yeaaaaah, theres a chance that they could be totally expired and harboring tons of flesh-eating bacteria, but I'm gonna take my chances! Adventurous eater, awaaaaaay!
A 6.2 oz. box with five 1.2 oz. bars costs around $4.38.

A 35g bar contains 150 calories, 60 of them being from fat, 6g of total fat, 1.5g of saturated fat, 0g of trans fat, 2g of polyunsaturated fat, 2g of monounsaturated fa t, 0mg of cholesterol, 105mg of sodium, 22g of total carbohydrates, 2g of dietary fiber, 10g of sugar, and 2g of protein.

Out of the wrapper, and prospects are high on this one. This bar kinda gives off a glow of warmth, what with the deep brown pecans studding the pale granola mix, all covered with a shiny, translucent maple drizzle that almost looks more like icing than anything. There are also little flax seeds sprinkled all around. La dee da dee do... Maybe it looks a little boring to you, but I think this granola bar looks rather nice!

At first, this bar had a very nutty flavor to it- probably due to the flax seeds. Or the pecans. Probably a combination of both. It was a roasted nut kind of taste- warm, yet sweet. There was a strong maple taste that helped to provide the majority of the sweetness, and the sticky feel gave an even bigger impression of maple in this bar. The whole thing was soft all around- much easier to pull apart than most granola bars -but the pecans were exceptionally soft, not really crunchy like most nuts are. But I suppose that's how pecans naturally are, aren't they? I wouldn't know because pecans make me sick (like literally, tummy hurts kinda sick). Anyway, the pecans were really tasty too! All nice and pecan-y...

Anyway, don't be fooled by the organic tag- this is a great-tasting granola bar, and a pretty unique one at that. Maple pecan? Sweet! It's a soft and delicious bar, with sweet maple undertones and tasty pecans. If you like organic, you'll LOVE these. Even my friend who was wary of the organic-ness of this product enjoyed the taste of this bar very much. I could buy these again for sure!
I'd give Nature's Path Organic's Sweet & Salty Mmmaple Pecan Chewy Granola Bars an 8/10.
